Film Fallout Podcast #130 - Hold the Smallfoot

Published: Oct. 4, 2018, 8:19 p.m.

Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan are back to see Jeremy Saulnier's Hold the Dark. Can it possibly live up to the heights of his last film, Green Room? Is the film too subdued or properly heightened due to the dark and bleak thematic content? Should Jeffrey Wright lead more feature films? Let us tell you! Dylan found some time between this year's VIFF to see the new film from Warner Animation Group, Smallfoot. After The Lego Movies and Storks, how could this one possibly live up to the hype? Are expectations too high for this children's comedy/musical? Next week, Chris and Dylan watch the third remake of A Star Is Born, directed by Bradley Cooper and starring him and Lady Gaga. Can it get past the cringe-worthy male savior trailer and prove that it's the Oscar gold that it's promising? And no need to worry everyone, they will most certainly be talking about Venom as well. There's no way Chris is missing out on another disastrous and possibly hilarious Tom Hardy performance.
