Film Fallout Podcast #112 - Westworld: A Star Wars Story for Cannes

Published: May 30, 2018, 8:41 p.m.

Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan grab their lucky dice, hop into the Millenium Falcon and pick up special guest Redmond Bacon for this week’s review of Solo: A Star Wars Story. We discuss how Alden Ehrenreich did as a young Han Solo, why we still wish Phil Lord and Chris Miller had still made the film, and what works in a film that feels wholly unnecessary. We also brought Redmond on this week because he was actually at the Cannes Film Festival this year. So we got to ask all about the films we’re interested in that he saw as well as what ones he loved at the festival. We get into one of the most controversial films of the festival (The House that Jack Built), one that Dylan is very excited for (Climax), one that Chris is very excited for (Burning) and a bunch more that Redmond saw and enjoyed (including The Wild Pear Tree). As always, we also discuss the newest episode of Westworld, “Phase Space”. Next week, we will return with a review of Hereditary. You can find Redmond’s work all over the internet at: Goomba Stomp, Dirty Movies, Much Ado About Cinema, and Taste of Cinema. You can find Film Fallout every week on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as anything else that pulls an RSS Feed. Feel free to share the podcast with your friends if you enjoy it, and rate and subscribe on iTunes to help spread the word as much as possible!
