Film Fallout Podcast #110 - A Dangerous Son Seeks Revenge on Barry

Published: May 17, 2018, 2:55 a.m.

It’s about time there’s a rape/revenge film that is both super extreme and somehow…tasteful? Well, thankfully Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan saw Revenge, the debut film from Coralie Fargeat that sees a woman seeking bloody vengeance on the three men who took advantage of her. We discuss when it’s okay to be outlandish and whether it works when your subject matter is very provocative to begin with. We also talk about the many ways in which this film surprised us. This week, Dylan watched two stand up specials including Kevin Smith’s latest and Ali Wong’s. He also finished the first season of Barry and is here to pass a verdict on Bill Hader’s new HBO show, as well as what he thought of the new documentary on HBO called A Dangerous Son. Meanwhile, both Chris and Dylan run through the events on what was one of the best episodes of Westworld yet: The Riddle of the Sphinx. Next week, we’ll be back with a review of Deadpool 2. You can find Film Fallout every week on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as anything else that pulls an RSS Feed.
