Film Fallout Podcast #104 - Ready Canine One

Published: April 4, 2018, 10:33 p.m.

We anticipated this moment for a long time, but we’re finally reviewing Ready Player One. Directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel of the same name by Ernest Cline, Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan jack into the Oasis and take on the idea of being an auteur, gamer culture, and how much we dislike Ernest Cline. This is one of our longest reviews ever, so make sure to take 20-minute breaks in between your virtual reality sessions so your head doesn’t hurt. Isle of Dogs is Wes Anderson’s newest quirky film and we also spend a decent amount of time discussing intent versus ignorance and whether there is merit to the ongoing controversy surrounding the film. Dylan also watched a four-and-a-half-hour documentary called The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling, and Chris watched the fourth Insidious film - Insidious: The Last Key. Next week, we return with a review of Blockers and probably some words on A Quiet Place. You can find Film Fallout every week on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as anything else that pulls an RSS Feed. Feel free to share the podcast with your friends if you enjoy it, and rate and subscribe on iTunes to help spread the word as much as possible!
