In remembrance of the great Jonathan Demme, who passed away last week at 73, we're looking back to 2012 when he visited the Film Society for a conversation and screening of two of his early works. 1977’s CITIZEN'S BAND and 1980’s MELVIN AND HOWARD screened in our series commemorating the 50 year anniversary of the New York Film Festival. On the occasion, Demme joined Program Director Richard Peña as well as actor and frequent collaborator Paul Le Mat for an insightful and personal discussion of his early career.
