Leaders at the Veterans Health Administration were up against a massive challenge in the early days of the pandemic: Hire as many medical professionals as possible and get them working as fast as they could. Jessica Bonjorni is the chief officer for workforce management at VHA. The agency asked their HR specialists in the field: What would it take to onboard new employees in three days? Bonjorni says the lessons and the improvements VHA has made during the pandemic will change the way agency hires forever.
