Valerie Jane Parker Talks About Her Role in 'The Voices' - Interview

Published: April 2, 2021, 6:09 p.m.

Valerie Jane Parker talks about her role as Lilly in the horror flick The Voices available today, Good Friday, April 2, 2021 on VOD.

The first thing I think about when I hear horror movie scream queen is clearly, pastor's kid (PK) born to missionaries in Zimbabwe. Well, in the case of Valerie Jane Parker, that's exactly what we get from this PK, who's father, Pastor Ronnie Allen Meek, will be retiring after her service to the Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ this year.

Parker, who is the youngest of three children and freely admits to be the, "accident baby" enjoys torturing her older siblings with pictures, clips and full scenes of horror flicks that she's either been in or rather enjoys. Leave it to the youngest in the family to torture the elder siblings when the parents have grown tired by the time they come around...or at least that's what I've witness, I'm an only child and I am beyond thankful for that.

Official Synopsis of The Voices:

Ashley Bell, Jordan Ladd, and Leslie Easterbrook star in this spring’s most unnerving new horror film.
From Vertical Entertainment, and award-winning filmmaker Nathaniel Nuon, hear The Voices this April.

After visiting her father's grave, Lilly and her mother are involved in a terrible car accident leaving Lilly orphaned and unable to see. In her youth, she struggles with her blindness and begins to hear voices. Unbeknownst to her they don't belong to the living. After years of learning to cope, Lilly is now happily married with a baby on the way. Lilly soon discovers her unborn baby has become a vessel a second chance for souls stuck in limbo to be re-born. She only has until the baby's first heartbeat to decide which soul will be re-born through her. Now the voices she heard in her youth have returned, clamoring for the chance to come back. Among the voices, she befriends the spirit of a little girl tied to a years-old cold case. Lilly finds herself in a desperate struggle with the girl's murderers and the souls vying to be born again.

Valerie Jane Parker (Wrong Turn), Jenna Harvey (You Might Be The Killer), Jonathan Stoddard (The Young and the Restless), and Rezeta Veliu (Girls), star in a film directed by Nathaniel Nuon , and written by Nuon and Daniel Hathcock.

We caught up with Parker, discussed why other PK's like Tom Ellis who is Lucifer on the hit series Lucifer go into not only the arts, but also horror. We even pitch a fanfic film where her and Ellis would play lapsed Christian ministers who seek redemption and it would be faith based film gold!

The Voices in available on VOD today, Good Friday or all days. So, if you are the Western Christian denominations from Catholicism on down to Non-Denomination, feel free to watch the film before seeking repentance this Easter Sunday.
