Ron Funches Talks About His Role on the Netflix Series 'Hoops'

Ron Funches is one of the funniest comedians out on there today. On top of the stresses of living in a pandemic filled world, Funches remains active in his home life as a husband and father. To put the proverbial icing on the cake, Funches has also lost and maintained losing 140 lbs, where as most people have gained the quarantine fifteen.

We spoke to Funches about stand-up, weight loss, family life and his new Netflix series Hoops, which begins streaming today. Funches voices the character of Ron, who is Jake Johnson's reasonable friend that keeps the series grounded in its hilarity.

Series ynopsis:

Hoops is an animated comedy sitcom that centers on a hot-headed, foul-mouthed high school basketball coach (Jake Johnson) who thinks turning around his god awful team will take him to the “big leagues” and turn his miserable life around.

Hoops is created by Ben Hoffman. Hoffman, Johnson, Seth Cohen, M. Dickson, Itay Reiss, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers. Hoops is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and animated by Bento Box.
