Kathrine Barnes Co-Stars in the New BET+ Series, 'Average Joe', which premiered last night following the BET Awards. The BET Awards aired on almost every single Paramount Global owned cable station, including Nickelodeon, which was quite confusing, but what wasn't confusing is that Barnes had such an impact on the BET executives that her character was extended to 7 or the 10 episodes during the first season.

Barnes has been seen on such TV shows like, 'Queer As Folk', 'Candy' and the Sundance film, 'The Glorias', as well as, 'Moonshot: Faceless After Dark and Walden.' She has also appeared on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, Christmas Special, 'Adult Swim Yule Log.'

A mega Julie Andrews fan, Barnes was only slightly impressed that I knew of Andrews' film, 'SOB', which shed her Mary Poppins image in the early 1980s. However, she did talk about her architect sister and where she would throw a, "Don't you know who I am?" celebrity style tantrum once she is more readily recognized.

Barnes is also a Co-founder & Producing Partner at Vernal & Sere Theatre, she recently partnered with the Luis Buñuel Film Institute to mount the world-premiere stage adaptation of Buñuel's 1962 surrealist masterpiece, The Exterminating Angel, in which she played Silvia, the Duchess of Avila.

In the series 'Average Joe',Barnes co-stars with leading man, Deon Cole, Tammy Townsend, Cynthia McWilliams, Malcolm Barrett and many others. Kathrine plays the recurring role (7-8 episodes out of 10) of 'Arina' which is nicknamed, "The Chameleon," a former KGB assassin and enforcer for the Russian mob who is dragged out of retirement and back into the world of fighting for her life in Pasha Lychnikoff’s world. 'Average Joe', which premiered on BET's new streaming service BET+ last night following the BET Awards.

'Average Joe' will stream once a week for the next 10 weeks on Sunday nights.
