Beginning April 4, 2020, NBC will be launching their three hour Saturday morning educational block entitled, The More You Know and what's greater than learning about who you are? Roots Less Traveled, hosted by Faruq Tauheed.

According to NBC:

Each episode of “Roots Less Traveled” follows a new pair of multigenerational family members who bond on a joint quest to learn more about their family history. In partnership with Ancestry®, the series will feature relatives as they set out on an adventure to solve mysteries in their family tree, guided by host Faruq Tauheed. From rumors of ancestors aboard the Titanic to stories of homesteaders forging a new path for future generations, duos will discover the truth behind the tales that have been passed down for generations and reveal the inspiring lives of their ancestors. They will learn how their past has shaped their present and, with a deepened family bond, help them envision their futures together.

We spoke with Tauheed about the new series and what he was able to learn about his own family, what he shares with his son about their ancestry and the hardest question we could think of: What's worse, having your identity stolen from you or willingly give it up? This is definitely a difficult question to answer and varies from person-to-person. Luckily, there is no right answer and it is based on personal experiences, which allows us all to learn more about each other.

Along with hosting Roots Less Traveled, Philadelphia, PA native is the ring announcer for Discovery Channel's BattleBots, has voiced characters for Cartoon Network's We Bare Bears, Bioshock Infinite and is the voice of Hotwire. He has also appeared in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Selma and The New Girl.
