Co-Producer and co-writer, Henry Darrow McComas (The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story, Secrets of the Garden, Kings of Conversation) talked to me about the new documentary based on The Monster Squad entitled Wolfman’s Got Nards.

McComas, who officially put a one degree of separation between The Backstreet Boys *NSYNC and The Monster Squad discussed with us how one night when he was going through his older brother's VHS collection as a child came across a cassette with a singular white tape on it that read, The Monster Squad, popped in the movie and fell in love with the now cult film.

It was on a chance meeting that McComas ran into Andre Gower who played Sean in the now legendary film that the two became friends and began discussing production on a potential documentary that lead to the love letter to fans in Wolfman’s Got Nards.

McComas followed around Gower, Ryan Lambert (Rudy) and Ashley Banks (Phoebe) on a 17 theater in 17 days tour showing the '80s flick to packed Alamo Draft House across the country, while avoiding a hurricane that follow them through Southeastern Texas.

Through the love of the fans, the resurgence of the film and the desire to keep it alive, McComas and co-writer, co-producer and was the cinematographer of Wolfman’s Got Nards. The fanfare it so rightly deserves and why the Warner Bros. movie that couldn’t in theaters, did so well on HBO and the home video market that was never forgotten by 80s kids like myself who drove their teachers crazing by constantly quoting the iconic scene of Wolfman’s Got Nards.

The Wolfman’s Got Nards is available on VOD clicking here and DVD as well.
