Stewart Alexander is the author of An Extraordinary Journey – The Memoirs of a Physical Medium.He has practiced physical mediumship for over 40 years. “Following the interview it occurred to me that regrettably I had failed to mention the many different aspects of the physical manifestations that frequently occur at my séances and in fact had mainly spoken about the so-called trumpet phenomena. Also – and I believe this to be vitally important – I also failed to even mention that at public and Guest Seances I have always insisted upon body restraints which secure me firmly to the chair I sit upon. Additionally I always wear luminous tabs which are adhered to my trouser legs so that sitters can, throughout an entire séance, plainly see that I do not move from it. And finally – and I believe this to be of critical importance - I also failed to explain why my séances are mainly held in total darkness. Of course such a situation conveniently opens the door for the habitual critic and sceptic to allege that such conditions conveniently mask fraudulence and this I perfectly understand.
