Discomfort and suffering are unavoidable when bringing new life into the world. Similarly, when Jesus brought new life to humanity, he endured a labour of grace when he suffered and died on the cross. A woman’s labour ends with an empty womb; but Jesus’ labour led to the resurrection and an empty tomb.
