Thomas Price is the Director of Engineering of the Core Engineering division at the Standard where he focuses on the Core Applications and Enterprise Integration product teams. He was also until very recently responsible for the Application Security team at the Standard as well. Thomas started his career as a firmware developer and has slowly moved up the technology stack to desktop applications, mobile software and now enterprise software. He has spent a large portion of his career in regulated industries like medical devices, digital health, and insurance. He has also worked in commercial spaces like auto dealerships and storage servers. Most of his career has been in product development but now he is spending some time in IT driving the technology and platform transformation at the Standard.

Thomas also sits on the Technology Leadership Committee at the Technology Association of Oregon as well as the Board and Steering Committee of the PSU/PDX Cooperative Education Program. He participates in one adventurous activity every year, which once included spending a weekend riding rodeo bulls, and this year will involve a Kayak/Camping trip through the San Juan Islands. Thomas holds a BS in Computer Science from Colorado State University and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.

He has put his primary focus on improving the culture, processes and development effectiveness of organizations. Beyond that, he strives to engage with the local technology community in ways that bring value back to those he engages with.
