Episode 19: The Impact of Mass Shootings and What We Can Do to Help

Today’s episode is a bit different than usual. We are talking about the prevalence of mass shootings in our country and honoring those lost in the most recent mass shootings in Atlanta, Georgia and Boulder, Colorado.

We will be discussing the taboo conversations that often come up after mass shootings, focusing on decreasing the stigma of mental illness and erasing the connection of mental illness to mass shootings. Despite polarizing beliefs and politically charged arguments, we all want the normal occurrence of mass shootings and the fear they bring to come to an end.

What we’re talking about...

  • Mass Shootings
  • Reforming background checks and gun laws
  • Gun violence statistics in America compared to other developed high GDP countries
  • Destigmatizing mental illness and how you can help
  • What you can actively do to decrease mass shootings and deaths by guns

This episode features songs written by youth brought to you by the non-profit organization MyTuneIn.org.
