152: How to Know What Is Actually Making You Happy

b'Do you ever wake up and feel like you\\u2019ve just experienced spiritual amnesia? You know, when you take classes, listen to podcasts or do something else that lights your soul on fire only to wake up the next morning feeling\\u2026not so soulful, barely recognizing who you were the day before.\\n \\xa0\\n I\\u2019m here to tell you that this is normal. As one of my favorite quotes says:\\n \\xa0\\n \\u201cEvery day is day one.\\u201d\\n \\xa0\\n It\\u2019s one of my favorites because it\\u2019s so true. You change on a daily basis and what happened yesterday has no bearing on today. So what made you happy yesterday, doesn\\u2019t necessarily make you happy today. And many days you won\\u2019t even know who you are\\u2026red flag!\\n \\xa0\\n \\u201cIf you\\u2019ve forgotten who you are, you may want to reassess.\\u201d\\n \\xa0\\n Ask yourself, \\u201cwhat\\u2019s working for me. What\\u2019s not?\\u201d Are you continuing to do something because you think you should or because you think you\\u2019re going to get a certain result? Sometimes we\\u2019re so caught up in what we should do that we forget what we enjoy doing.\\n \\xa0\\n To ensure that I stay in this constant state of evaluation and questioning (and happiness), it\\u2019s imperative that I pray, meditate and get grateful (this is often only 5-6 minutes a day).\\n \\xa0\\n \\u201cDo the thing that makes you find peace.\\u201d\\n \\xa0\\n Get present, become aware and make time for what truly makes you happy \\u2013 regardless of what\\u2019s happening that day (crazy work day, family visiting, running kids all over town). Play your favorite music that helps you get in flow.
