b'The season of Advent is about a loving God, the creator of all things, coming to live with us\\u2026 His creation. As followers of Jesus, our confidence is rooted in God being present with us both now and forever. The word \\u201cAdvent\\u201d derives from the Latin word adventus which means \\u201capproach\\u201d or \\u201carrival\\u201d. God has arrived among us in the person of Christ and continues to approach us through the Holy Spirit. The season of Advent is both the celebration of Jesus\\u2019 appearance in history and our expectation of His promised return. In the midst of uncertain times, we celebrate Advent as a reminder that, in Christ, we can face the present and the future with peace of mind.'
