b'Instagram reported that #Love was the social network’s most-used hashtag of 2015. With popular social media trends like #LoveWins and music billboard chart-topping songs about love and relationships, it is clear that we live in a world where love and ideas of love are rampant and diverse. Whether it is aimed at ourselves or at others, the need and capacity for love can be clearly observed in every area of our lives. Though it may seem like a trend of the ‘times’, confusion and misunderstanding of true love have plagued humanity from the beginning. We all develop an idea of love, romance, and affection from our experiences and learned philosophies. It was with awareness of this dilemma that the Apostle Paul, in his letter to the early church in Corinth, makes the invitation: “let me show you a better way”. The Bible invites us to a lifestyle of love as demonstrated by God and displayed through Jesus. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13.'
