Ep 53 - 'Just Asked Too Many Questions'

Published: Sept. 5, 2018, 4:21 a.m.

Join Caroline Wilson and Corrie Perkin for Episode 53 of Don’t Shoot the Messenger.  Spring is in the air and there’s more than a touch of Footy Finals Fever in the studio as Caro’s Tigers prepare to take on Corrie’s Hawks in the first final of the season.  After a mid week golf trip with the girls to the City of Churches last week, Corrie’s full of praise for the ‘girl gang getaway’ and shares some of her Adelaide highlights. Caro’s got a few SA GLT’s of her own as well.  In keeping with the Adelaide theme Caro reports on the ongoing dramas at the Crows and the vibe in a city without a team in the finals - despite such promise earlier in the season.  We remember famed Melbourne sports writer Ron Carter who passed away recently. Corrie pays tribute to her former colleague with some lovely memories of Ron while Caro reflects on his moving memorial service.  Barack Obama is Corrie’s ‘Crush of the Week’ thanks to The Interchange Bench - recruit the best staff with The Interchange Bench. Call 1800 i BENCH to get in touch with them today or check out their website HERE.  In “BSF” Corrie has been reading ‘A Life To Come’ by Michelle de Kretser which won the 2018 Miles Franklin Award last week. You can purchase the book HERE.  Caro and Corrie are hooked on the new ABC TV drama ‘The Split’ and Corrie serves up a Donna Hay favourite ‘Grilled Balsamic Chicken with Limes’ (see recipe below). Check out the recipe HERE.  A newspaper shortage at Caro’s local store has her in a grump this week and in ‘6 Quick Questions’ we rate Steve Bannon v Sarah Ferguson, touch on Gillon McLachlan and Peter Dutton’s ‘Nannygate’ woes and Corrie has the perfect book for a 1 year old - the Lois and Bob series (available HERE).  Pub the 'Marquis of Lorne’ in Fitzroy is Caro’s lates ‘GLT’ (you'll find details HERE)  for the week and evokes memories of ‘Bunny’s’ the fictional watering hole in 70s series ‘The Young Doctors’.  Learn more about your ad choices.
