b'The song I have sent you this week is another from the Cheshire Cats album we talked about last week\\u2026.which we made back in the day\\u2026.this song is \\u201cThe Battle Of New Orleans\\u201d and is one I produced for my great mate \\u201cSkiffle\\u201d John Lomax\\u2026..who sadly passed away some time ago\\u2026.I put the instrumentation together on the record\\u2026.\\nJohn was a member of The Atlantics Skiffle Group who were one of the first in the area\\u2026I saw them in 1958 which was the first time I heard an electric guitar\\u2026.they appeared on \\u201cTop Town\\u201d and John went on to make films\\u2026one featuring the final plight of Donald Campbell which won him an award\\u2026.this led to a feature by the BBC called \\u201cDays Which Changed The World\\u201d\\u2026in which they used John\\u2019s footage and had an actor playing him.\\n\\nIn 2001 I put a skiffle group together with him and we went to Finland to perform at a huge convention\\u2026..I loved John dearly and miss him very much.\\n\\n\\nI just don\\u2019t get why certain so called celebs think they can sing those Rat Pack standards\\u2026..Peter Andre has brought out an album with a collection of them\\u2026WHY?...his version of \\u201cCome Fly With Me\\u201d is as bad as it gets\\u2026.\\n\\nRobbie Williams brought one out a while back\\u2026.if they insist on swing music why not get some original stuff\\u2026.if I want to hear that sort of stuff I\\u2019ll listen to Sinatra and his gang\\u2026.who do it properly.\\n\\nAnd any day now we will be bombarded with all the stale played out Christmas songs\\u2026.Kylie has just made a Christmas album of all the songs we are sick of hearing\\u2026WHY?....do something ORIGINAL!!\\n\\n I don\\u2019t know who puts certain people in positions where they can make major decisions\\u2026.the latest classic is to turn off the street lighting in certain villages to save money\\u2026.and\\u2026wait for it\\u2026they can put the lights on again if the locals pay for it\\u2026.wait for it\\u2026.7 PENCE a day each.\\n\\nYou couldn\\u2019t write this in a comedy show\\u2026\\u2026HELLO\\u2026street lighting keeps areas safe doesn\\u2019t it?.......oh sorry I forgot\\u2026we have to send billions overseas to help other countries\\u2026..I despair.\\n\\n The new James Bond film has been heavily covered by the national news\\u2026.as has Adele\\u2019s new record\\u2026.National News???....I don\\u2019t think so\\u2026..incidentally Daniel Craig is from Hoylake which is just down the road from me\\u2026.one of the lads I play golf with knows a lad who went to school with him\\u2026.said he was a bit of a wimp in school and never did any sport etc\\u2026.his mate is now a mechanic and Dan is James Bond\\u2026.how\\u2019s that for poetic justice.\\n\\n\\u2026\\u2026It\\u2019s Halloween time and the shops are doing well\\u2026.I just don\\u2019t get Halloween\\u2026.it was just a bit of duck apple in my day\\u2026.all this trick and treating is something we ahave aquired from the States\\u2026like high fives etc\\u2026.then we have Bonfire night where loads of kids will get injured\\u2026.can\\u2019t wee the point of fireworks\\u2026.or am I Mr. Bah Humbug?'
