January 11, 2015 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. And while some aspects of his life and legacy remain contentious, most agree that his role in the creation of Canada was paramount. In this episode we explore the life and career of Sir John A. Macdonald with award-winning journalist-historian Arthur Milnes as our guide. Also joining us is LAC art archivist and curator Madeleine Trudeau, who speaks to us about the incredibly diverse collection of Sir John A.
