July 23, 2014. A panel at the Digital Preservation 2014 meeting discusses how effective data reuse depends on a complex chain of activities and involves the interplay of data producers, reusers and curators. A key challenge is determining what specific data curation practices are needed to enable data reuse. In this session, three presenters explored these issues in two different contexts: a cyberinfrastructure project that enables the transfer of active data into preserved data objects; and a case study of secondary uses of curated data in the archaeological community.
