Bansko, Bulgaria Is Quarantined for COVID-19 as Country Shuts Down Borders

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bulgaria has officially closed its borders to all foreign nationals from March 20 until April 17 - including citizens of EU Member States and Schengen Zone countries. The popular ski down and expat/digital nomad hub of Bansko is quarantined for at least two weeks, leaving at least 300 foreigners to decide whether to stay or leave through Sofia Airport.
