Published: Sept. 18, 2020, 7:34 p.m.

We talk with Mayly Tao about owning and operating DK's Donuts, the incredible history of donuts in America, and how to build a brand in the 21st century. Mayly is amazing and this podcast was a ton of fun!

Mayly Tao is the owner and operator of DK's Donuts in Santa Monica. She has self-proclaimed herself as the Donut Princess, and has a donut bouquet delivery company in addition to about 1000 other awesome projects. She's been featured in every major food media you can think of - and has debuted her donuts around the world.

Her parents who started DK’s Donuts were survivors of the Khmer Rouge. Mayly’s great uncle Ted, known as the Donut King, opened up hundreds of donut shops for Cambodian refugees in the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Follow Mayly on all of her IG accounts. Patrick HIGHLY recommends you do this.
