Tom shares on perseverance, and staying the course through thick and thin. The Bible reminds us in James 1 v 2-4 to have patient endurance in trials – to "Count it all joy, when we meet trials of various kinds, for we know that the testing of our faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James emphasis the ‘when’ you meet trials, not the ‘if’ you meet trials. Trials are part of life – it’s not nice, but it’s not ungodly to have to face trials, and we can be encouraged in this, because as trials test our faith – what is produced is endurance. We know it’s not always easy to endure, and we cannot even consider doing it alone – we need each other, our family, church community and most of all to walk with Holy Spirit Be encouraged to run the race with our eyes fixed on Jesus.
