MONDAY MEDITATIONS | SMALL MINDS DISCUSS PEOPLE

How much time he gains who does not look to see what his neighbour says or does or thinks, but only at what he does himself, to make it just and holy. - Marcus Aurelius

If we want to be the husbands, fathers, friends and colleagues we are capable of and called to be we need to root gossip out of our lives. It is like a poison that rots our self-respect and kills character. Especially as examples to our children of how to speak of and treat others we need to cease this absolutely toxic waste of time, energy and thought we could be putting into things that benefit us and others.

In his 30 days of discipline previous podcast guest challenges us to make a daily habit of zero gossip.

"Gossip is a deplorable, energy-sucking trait that has zero place in a vital and prolific man's life"

As another well known saying goes:

Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.  - Henry Thomas Buckle
