“Sickness is a hindrance to the body, but not to your ability to choose, unless that is your choice. Lameness is a hindrance to the leg, but not to your ability to choose.”  - Epictetus -

How do you react to sickness and pain in yourself and that of your children?

Does it leave you feeing sorry for yourself? Do you choose to rise above it and still effective in your role as a dad?

For me it is a bit of both, but taking a stoic approach over the last couple of weeks and applying it to when my children have been sick has definitely kep me from the clutches of "man flu" and allowed me to stay more positive than I have in the past.
