Episode 76: Nic Higgins-DePaul University, Bridging The Gap

In today's edition of The Podcast, DePaul's Nic Higgins shares with us how force plates are fitting into their plan he see\u2019s them as a bridge between all aspects of developing athletes. Nic touches upon how they are able to implement the force plates into the development plan for all of his athletes, both in performance enhancement and return to play from injury. He then breaks down the process of the evaluation for a newer athlete, what they\u2019re look at and for with the evaluation, and how it will drive the training program for that person. We then get into some of the growing pains of starting to use the force plates and he shares some advise and points where they made some mistakes with utilizing this tool, and communicating the information to the sport coaches. The final thing we talk about is the outlier, how you handle the kids who are super stars who may not quite fit the \u201cmold\u201d without affecting their games in a negative manner.
