Jo Luehmann, is a public speaker and writer who teaches about dismantling systems of oppression, restorative justice, the effects of trauma, and centering the needs of marginalized communities.

\\n

She is Colombian born and raised, and moved to the US to get her master\'s degree in ministry and theology. After 10 years working inside of churches, developing curriculum, and teaching classes on theology and doctrine, she stopped working in the church and started The Living Room, a non-profit that helps faith spaces consider and evaluate issues of racial literacy and equity.

\\n

In the summer of 2020, inspired by a group of victims and survivors of church abuse, she started doBetterChurch, an online space for victims of religious mistreatment. The platform invites churches to improve how they conduct themselves, seeks to ensure the safety of marginalized communities, and offers it\\u2019s more than 10,000 participants peer support, tools for healing, and a safe space to communicate and be seen.
