Richard Hubbard is a men\\u2019s group leader, Zen practitioner, martial artist, writer and independent educator. In 2017, Richard began a journey into men\\u2019s work through Inside Circle, a therapeutic men\\u2019s group in San Francisco that is led by and attended by incarcerated men, but which is also open to the public. He is a survivor of physical and sexual childhood abuse and struggled with substance abuse through the 1990s. Several turbulent years culminated in a near-death experience that led him to a Zen monastery, where he took up formal practice. He spent 5 years in conservatory theater programs and has applied this training, and training in other modalities to facilitate healing for others. Richard now works with several other organizations based in California, New York, and Massachusetts that assist men and women with empowerment and growth.
