A Personal Evolution in Political Vision with Steve Kling, Software Architect, Army Veteran, and... My Older Brother

b'After the fateful day of September 11th, 2001, my brother Steven Kling placed his career in IT on hold, joining a Special Operations unit of the U.S. Army known as Civil Affairs. Its mission: to protect refugees and rebuild societies torn apart by war. Steven served two combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and is a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Combat Action Badge and the Joint Services Commendation Medal. Steven left the Reserve after 11 years of distinguished service, serving as both enlisted and officer, and achieving the rank of Captain. These days he enjoys a mostly quiet country life in Dripping Springs, Texas with his wife and twin boys, however, the current political environment has motivated him to protect his community in a new capacity as a political activist and former candidate, charged with the passion to reform corruption at the state level, bolster public education, and fight systemic oppression.\\n\\n--- \\n\\nSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/aprilklingmeyer/support'
