This Year Doesn't Suck!

Published: Sept. 27, 2020, 9:01 a.m.

This week's podcast started without much structure. Just two people in love with beer and travel having a conversation about the status of the world today, realizing that while the media states the world is on fire both literally and figuratively, it really doesn't suck.

Surround yourself with good people, create the adventures you want, and just be kind...well, how can life suck? Especially, when in the middle of recording, we get a knock on our door with an unexpected beer delivery and fun conversation with beertender, hop enthusiast, and self-proclaimed ski bum, Matt, from Single Hill Brewing. This podcast will restore your faith in travel, people, and 2020.

2020 doesn't suck and don't let the media tell you differently.

Recording in hops country USA, Yakima, Washington, in the parking lot of Single Hill Brewing, where they get some of their hops from the local hop farm, Roy Farms, a 5th generation family farm, to make several fresh hop beers, we are gratefully reminded that the world doesn't suck, even in 2020.

Michael Franti, singer, songwriter, and peace activist, says it best. "Bad shit happens, but good shit happens, too."

So, as we sat down to talk about all the great things in life, despite of the crap that has hit the fan this year, and how people are reacting to it, we got a surprise visit from Matt at Single Hill Brewing. This podcast took a turn for the better. Learning about some backcountry boarding opportunities and scenic drives through Washington, we hope you learn a bit about travel, Washington, beer, and good people. Don't listen to the media, listen to us.
