Meet Chicha and Pulque: Ancient Ales from Dos Luces Brewery

Published: Aug. 30, 2020, 8:05 a.m.

Always looking to discover something new in the brewing industry, we happily came across Dos Luces Brewery in the historic South Broadway District in Denver, Colorado.

While the beers they brew here may be new to many in the U.S., they have been around for thousands of years and are surrounded by traditions and ceremonial events. Meet Chicha and Pulque, two ancient ales that are naturally gluten-free, naturally fermented, and offer a unique take upon what we know as beer.

Judd Belstock, owner and founder, will take you through a history lesson of Latin America and the Aztecs while intriguing you with tales of crafting these unique beers. So, if you have the travel bug, and today's world is making it quite difficult to feed that bug, go to Latin America with us as Judd takes us from the concrete jungles of Denver to the lush jungles of Latin America...via one step through his doorway.

Oh, the places we went!
