Batch286: The Best IPAs & Drinking Warm Beer in Indiana

Published: Jan. 12, 2022, 8:05 a.m.

Ever drink so much that you decided to take a trip to Gary, Indiana? Neither did we.
Flex and Greg are joined by special guest, and Indiana native, Zack Miller. We talk about Zack’s time in the craft beer industry, the weird alcohol laws in Indiana, the best IPAs in America, and PBR’s tweeting fiasco.

Greg kicks off the beer research with Fantastic, an IPA from Societe Brewing & Beachwood Brewing. Zack is sipping on Blackberry Double Marbles, a milkshake IPA from More Brewing Company in Huntley, IL.

Zack got in touch with us after we spent a few minutes talking about how much we don’t appreciate Indiana back on Batch 285. Not only is he an Indiana native, but he also works for a craft beer distributor and knows his way around the craft scene. He sets Flex straight on the good parts of IN and fills us in on some super weird alcohol laws.

The homie Chew Your Beer calls and drops a fresh voicemail on us.

We found out the best-rated American IPAs in 2021; did it make Flex angry?

The sale of Bell’s Brewing is official; welcome to the dark side. Pabst Blue Ribbon drops some very lively tweets comparing Dry January to licking certain body parts. Kings & Convicts have acquired the old Sant Archer taproom. It turns out that SweetWater and Tilray didn’t have to pay all that much for Green Flash and Alpine Beer. And Troy Aikman is dropping his own lager with a super creative name.
