He also worked for his uncle\\u2019s catering company. After graduating from college his step-father got him interested in the advertising field and he would go on to work in the industry for 22 years in Boston and then San Francisco. He got back into catering when he began working with Laurel and he would work with her on weekends and in the evenings after his advertising job. Laurel\\u2019s Catering began in 2006 while Matt was still working full time at the agency. Eventually he left the agency to become patterns with Laurel and run the company full time.
