The 3 species of anteaters here in Costa Rica are all amazing creatures.  We sincerely hope that you get to see one in the wild when you are visiting one of the many national parks and/or protected preserves.

They keep to themselves, but backed in a corner by a Puma or a Jaguar, they rise on their hind legs, balance themselves on their huge tail and lash out with their 4-inch claws...those weapons could really do some damage!
