The 11th chapter of Hebrews is a veritable wall of faith denoting saints who lived extraordinary lives of great faith and hope, often times not seeing the result of their faith-filled prayers and actions. And yet they persevered. There is a false teaching nowadays that there is nothing more we need do to make God more pleased with us, since in Christ He already is. But Paul exhorted us to always walk in a manner that pleases God, which was his continual aim as well. The Word of God clearly tells us that without faith it is impossible to please Him, and even though this journey of faith can be extremely discouraging and difficult at times, we can be inspired by the stories of the great cloud of witnesses gone before us by emulating them.
