John the Baptist came as a forerunner to prepare the way for the Messiah, Jesus Christ. His call and sole purpose is to prepare the way for the Lord. In many ways, that is exactly what God has called everyone of us to do. God has called us to pave the way to help others succeed in their lives. It requires us to take our eyes off ourselves and to give ourselves to help others. In doing so, ultimately, the way is made for Jesus to make an entrance into people’s lives.
