Jacob testified of his own life in Genesis 47:9 that his days have been “few and evil”. When you sit down and think about his life, it truly isn’t the most enviable. He went through strife and struggles, hardship and disappointment. At times, he underwent great uncertainty and fear, and countless disappointments. Yet all this makes his life very much identifiable for us and hence there are many things that we can learn from his life. What is most important, is that God brought Jacob from where he was and turned him into Israel - a prince. It is God’s desire to do the same for all of us.
