The word "more" means something in addition. When we speak of more, we usually are talking about money, cookies, or wants. Then when we get older we talk about more eyesight, more health, more warmth, or more mail-box money. Young or old, we still want more!

We often forget, we serve a God of more. He desires for us He desires for us to live in His abundance. I am not speaking of all the material and physical things I mentioned earlier. I am talking about more of Jesus. We sing "More About Jesus", why do we not need more of Jesus? More of Jeus is available and a closer walk is possible. Salvation is just the beginning. Can we be honest this morning, we have as much of Jesus as we allow Him to control. We place ourselves, our self-centeredness, and even our sins to rule sometimes in our lives.

Today, we will look at how Elisha prepared to take over Elijah's ministry. Elisha asked for more of Jesus when he asked for a "double portion" of the Spirit Elijah had. By the way, in 1 Kings and 2 Kings, Elijah was used of God to work eight miracles. In 2 Kings, Elisha was used to work sixteen miracles. So, it is possible to obtaining more and being used more. Look at how we can have more of Jesus as Elisha did. God wants total control so we can do more and be closer!
