Growing Up in Joy

Ephesians 5:1-20
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God… And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are many Biblical truths in Scripture, and Paul throws us into the deep end of the theological pool this week.  Do we believe what we read in Scripture? Do we examine our lives in light of the unwavering Gospel, or our own shifting, joy stealing “feelings”?  Does walking in love, and being filled with the Spirit mean something, or are we as a body so jaded by Christian self-help platitudes that we have lost focus on the Hope and Joy that is ours in Christ.  Join us and hear what Paul has to say about the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, to discern and live truth, love, peace, kindness, thanksgiving, and joy for we are Joyful Saints, and heirs of His Holy Kingdom, not a broken world.
