The season of Advent turns our attention to the arrival of Jesus. In the same way our ancestors waited for the first arrival of the Messiah, so we too wait for the second arrival and return of Jesus the Messiah. 

These men and women who have gone before us have much to teach us about what it means to wait faithfully. Therefore, this year we are focusing our attention on four characters in the drama of the birth of Jesus who can guide and shape our faith. What do they teach us when we look at the birth of Jesus through their eyes? This week we will look to the shepherds.
