The flesh and the Spirit are in opposition to one another. They are mutually diametrically opposed forces operating within your life, with different goals and pursuing different things. Galatians 5:16 tells us, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
Bearing fruit is a work of God’s grace. Galatians teaches us that we don’t bear fruit by trying harder or by doing more. We bear fruit by walking by the Spirit and being led by the Spirit.
