Andy Ruffell is a legend in the world of BMX. Besides being a champion rider, he was also a true pioneer of the sport. His accolades include being number one BMX rider throughout the early eighties and winning every freestyle event entered. In 1984 he was awarded, 'Young cyclist of the year' by the minister for sport. Andy won The UK Freestyle Champion's award and also became the Screensport Pro Champion in 1985. He held both the world records for both Bunny-Hop and People-Hop height. Andy made over five-hundred appearances on television and also starred in commercials for Kellogs and Readybrek. Twelve thousand people attended the Andy Ruffell show in South Africa and he also found time to record a top-thirty record entitled, 'BMX Boys Have a Lot of Fun'.
