When the true nature of the Self is veiled due to tamas, the rajasic aspect further projects the not-Self and the agitations of the mind set in. The 6 impurities of the mind assert and the root cause of kama or desires deludes the intellect completely. The sense pleasures have been likened to poison and through the analogy of a seed sprouting into the tree of samsara, the role of vasanas and karma in bondage are explained very well.
