b'When Andhaka attacked Lord Shiva, he was routed by the Lord
and His ganas. Andhaka had to run for his life. Lord Shiva
wanted to do more penance and so kept Viraka with Mother
Parvati to protect her. Andhaka regrouped and attacked. Many
ganas died and Viraka was buried under a huge pile of weapons.
He could not get up. Andhaka was about to enter Mother
Parvati\\u2019s cave. She invoked all the female powers of all the Gods
\\u2013 Brahmani, Narayani, Indrani, Vinayaki etc. All of them were
armed with various weapons and were charged up. They fought
fiercely. Andhaka\\u2019s commander Gila was a huge one but
Andhaka lost. As the battle was going on, Lord Shiva arrived.
This boosted the confidence of all the devis. Lord Shiva praised
Mother Parvati and other devis for their courage and bravery.
Parvati thanked Viraka and all the devis. Andhaka came with
Vidhasa and attacked Lord Shiva. All devatas were invoked by
Lord Shiva. A terrible battle ensued. All the devatas were
swallowed by Vidhasa. Viraka requested Lord Shiva to help. The
Lord came out of the cave. His glory and effulgence was brilliant.
But Vidhasa swallowed Viraka also. Only Lord Shiva was left.
He chanted a mantra where by Viraka had to send out everyone.
Everyone came out and asuras were vanquished. Andhaka and
Lord Shiva also fought. Many Andhakas got created from every
drop of blood of Andhaka. The Lord destroyed all of them with
His Trishul. Only the original was left. The Lord lifted him up
on the Trishul. He would have died. But the will of the Lord that
Andhaka survived and he transformed. Andhaka sought
forgiveness. He was humbled. He sought forgiveness of Mother
Parvati also. The Lord forgives him and tells him to seek a boon.
He asks to be a Gana of the Lord. Lord Shiva initiates him into
Mahamrityunjaya Mantra and with HIS Grace he comes to know
about his entire past. Now that he knows the backstory, he
realises that he is the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The Lord did
not kill Andhaka but destroyed his evil tendencies. Whoever
worships the Lord in this form is blessed with the knowledge of
the Supreme.

Andhaka is the symbol of ignorance. He did not know who his
real parents were. We are unaware of our Divine Parents. We get
into bad company and we become asuric. We may become
strong and successful but pride and ego comes into us. Due to this
we exploit and attack Mother Nature. We don\\u2019t treat Mother

Nature properly and so she punishes us. But we still don\\u2019t learn
our lessons and repeatedly continue to attack Mother Nature.
Finally Lord Shiva has to come and humble us completely. But
how compassionate of the Lord to forgive us when we surrender.
He also blesses us with the knowledge that we are Divine. Let us
look at Prakriti as Mother and invoke her grace and blessings on us.
