In this episode of Check It/Round Table Onna discusses Star Trek Picard S1, E8--Et in Arcadia Ego Part 1 and how the synths on their planet are bent on self-preservation just as their human counterparts are and how that human quality of self preservation is rather lame-o.  Onna considers how the synths and thought processes are those of tweens not thinking things through and how though not kids, they are not adults because they aren't trying yet and are just bent on the easy way out that is not a good option.  Onna also considers how Picard is kind of like the dad you wish you had to his crew and the synths from a locked room and how when you are down at the bottom, you really can only go up.  It's all here.  It's all real.
