b'Book Review \\u201cStar Trek: Picard - The Dark Veil.\\u201d This month starts production of season two of \\u201cStar Trek: Picard\\u201d - while it may be another year before we get a new episode, we are still getting new stories from this larger story setting. The trio engages \\u201cbook club mode\\u201d to discuss the second PIC novel - \\u201cThe Dark Veil\\u201d by James Swallow. This book is set on the U.S.S. Titan, with Captain William T. Riker in command. This story takes place approximately 14 years before the event of \\u201cPicard\\u201d season one, when the Romulan Empire is still facing the threat of the \\u201cstar death\\u201d (supernova) and the Federation has banned synthetic life, following an attack on Mars. This story blends the storylines of Romulans, Tal\\u2019Shair, and some other shadowy organizations.
