NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is at the center of a media storm after his actions this past weekend. He sent twitter and social media into a frenzy at his refusal to stand for the playing of the National Anthem. The backlash that he is receiving at his blatant lack of respect for the America flag speaks volumes on how this country feels when itâ??s being disrespected. Many question the motives behind his statement that he will stand with those being oppressed and until something is done he will not stand for the flag or National Anthem. This begs the question will he leave the NFL and all the perks he receives from it or will he continue to get paid millions of dollars to throw a football for the United States of America even though he believes in nothing this country stands for? This great country gives us freedom of speech but when has it gone too far? We have people disrespecting the flag by ripping it or burning it. There seems to be a lack of respect not only for our country but also for authority and with the upcoming election looming we need to take all these things into consideration.
