http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2017/06/newsweek-writer-caught-lying-in-bs-gun-story/ Writer Ryan Bort has been caught red handed promoting phony â??gun violenceâ?? statistics in a recent #FakeNews story for (the failing) Newsweek, claiming that guns are now the third leading cause of death for children. The story seems to be based around a report by a journal called Pediatrics, but Bort never actually provides a link to the report that he continually references. Instead, he gives links to the CDC and another organization called National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS), which the Pediatrics article supposedly sourced for their report. Thereâ??s just one problem for Mr. Bort; His numbers are all wrong. And itâ??s not even close. He says that â??Data on fatal gun deaths were drawn from the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionâ??s National Vital Statistics System database, and data on non-fatal gun injuries were from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissionâ??s National Electronic Injury Surveillance Systemâ?? so weâ??ll use those data sets instead of Bortâ??s #AlternativeFacts. The actual CDC report from 2014, the most recent available, can be found HERE.â??The Gateway Pundit Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, Larry Pratt BIO: Pratt has been Executive Director of Gun Owners of America for over 30 years.
